Hello, this is my first post on this board, so let me start from the beginning.  I have had recurrent bladder infections since I was four, and I am now 23.  I have had an ongoing infection that lasted almost a year but was finally cleared up about six months ago, this one was actually in my kidneys as well.  I had a lot of tests done after this, Xrays showed that my bladder had pinpoint bleeding and that my left kidney was enlarged and had a thick muccous lining, but the doctor assured me that it was because of my frequent infections and that my kidney function was normal.  I am still trying to pay off those medical bills.  Anyway, recently I have noticed that my urine contains a lot of white pulpy looking fragments in it, most are very small but some are quite large, the largest being about 1/2" long.  This has been going on for about two weeks now, and each day I notice more of these spots in my urine.  I did have symptoms of a UTI last week , but these have dissapeared.  These white spots do not appear every time I urinate, but usually once or twice a day, and i have not noticed a pattern of when it occurs.  Sometimes my urine is almost milky looking without the white spots.  I was just wondering if anyone had any info that they could share with me on this, as I have never experienced this before.  Any help would be appreciated.

Hi, pale 'bits' in urine can be perceived as dead skin cells. 'Cloudy' urine is often indicative of having an infection.

I also had a very long kidney infection and suffer from these things too. Nowadays I have my own dipstick tests, to help me differentiate between an IC flare and a bacterial infection.

Hope this helps,

Gemma

Thanks for your reply.  I actually found out that i have a kidney infection and was given abtibiotics (a six month supply) in order to keep the infection from coming back.  Now I have to have the 24-hr urine test done and also some tests on my heart since while I was at the office the doctor detected an abnormal rhthym and also a pulse of 160 bpm.  Hopefully it'll all check out alright.
