I have another UTI,my last was in December and one in November. So taking Nitrofurantonin again. Still waiting for my uro appointment at my local hospital so not getting anywhere at the moment and feeling depressed.
I've got to have another blood test in March as my last two showed that my white blood cells were low. Then I have to see my GP again for those results.

Hello SJ2271

Sorry to hear you have another UTI. I am just wondering if you have tried any natural alternatives such as D-Mannose which may help in the run up to your urology appointment?

Thanks. I've bought higher nature oregano oil caplets 50mg but haven't tried them yet. I tried D-Mannose awhile back but they didn't help.

Hello SJ2271

I am wondering how you were using the D-Mannose - how much were you taking and when? Do you know what the infection was - was it E-Coli? D-Mannose is effective against E-Coli but also has some impact on other gram-negative bacteria. Oil of Oregano has a more broad spectrum effect and will provide you with some protection against any bacteria in the bladder. It is also active against Candida. I am on the BHUK advice line tomorrow if you would like some advice about your situation (0121-702-0820)

I took the D-Mannose tablets and they gave me an upset stomach. But I never know what the infection is as it never gets sent to the lab. Thanks.
