If you have IC could you tell me where your pain is please and what
other symptoms do you get when in a flare .

The reason I'm asking is because I have IC and diverticulitis and I can't
tell which symptoms relate to which problem .

I'm really interested in where others get their pain .

Thanks.

Hi Blueangel
Sorry to read you still struggling, bless you, it is so difficult to differentiate.

I typed just the word 'Pain' in the search box, under IC and quite a lot of replies that may help
also saw Moderator Jens reply to you here,

Do hope someone else will reply to assist you, and maybe you could telephone the Office today  and speak with our regular NURSE, she may have some more help to assist you.
Kind regards
Kate

Hi Bluangel,

I have IC and diverticulitis and the pain occurs in 2 quite distinct areas, the diverticulitis pain happens down the right of my abdomen but my IC pain is much lower down and more central.

I have recently been told that my IC may be related to having had severe endemetriosis when I was younger and also having a bowel perforation caused by the diverticulitis, the problem may be due to muscle spasms.

Hope this helps.

Hi Kate
My problem isn't helped by the fact that I've recently had my
gallbladder removed and I've started getting the pain and sickness back
that I had before removal!! So many things going on and no treatment for any problem.

Hi Carol Ann, My diverticulitis pain is usually low down on the left of my abdomen.
I have a lot of pain right low down which is central , I can't tell if this is IC or diverticulitis,
neither can the doctors so no treatment or help.

Sorry you have both too, it's a nightmare .

My IC pain is central and low down it does however move depending upon how swollen I am and how bad my spasms are x

Hi blueangel glad to have hellwd. it can be quite hard to differentiate what pain belongs to what especially if you have multiple chronic pain issues that effect a similar area! X

It is a burning pain in my lower abdomen (pelvic area) and central.  Radiates to my back.    There is also a feeling of pressure.  On particularly bad days, my urethra feels like there are needles pricking inside it.  It also burns when I urinate.

Thanks Gerry. Sounds like my pain and in the same place.
I'm tending to think it's my IC pain that's the worst of the two !!
