Can anyone recommend a good quality brand of Grapefruit Seed extract ?
Anyone had any side effects from it?

I would be very cautious with anything grapefruit as there are a lot of medications that interact very severely with grapefruit. Please check with your Doctor that it is safe for you to consume grapefruit.

Here is a link regarding this matter

As Moderator Jen says if you are taking blood thinning agents then avoid anything with Grapefruit seed Extract in it and always check with your pharmacist about any other meds you take.

I have used Nutri Advanced Grapefruit Seed Extract previously which is excellent.  However a word of warning. It is very good at killing off most microbes especially Enterococcus but if you have e coli in your samples at all it will allow this to bubble up as it does not work on E Coli.  Ideally you should balance it out with D Mannose and Urva Ursi to contain the E Coli as well.

A balancing act I know but best to be aware of this.

I use GSE - the higher strength variety by Veridian (400mg). I don't find it has as much impact as Oil of Oregano on bacteria in the bladder and thrush. It can interact with other medications particularly statins so do get a medical opinion before you try it.
