Hi, I have identical symptoms following a UTI at the end of February with a constant feeling of needing to urinate and slight discomfort in the urethra. I being driven made by these symptoms and had very little help from my GP who insists my urine culture as showing as clear. I have now seen Dr X in Leeds (driven there from London in desperationn) because I don't seem to be able to get the medical profession to take me seriously. . I am not affected by what I eat or drink and can sleep of a night, usually get up once. I would love to feel "normal" again and will post again if I hear anything positive which might help.

Hi Ronnie, I am 53 and using Vagifem twice a week but have recently upped to 3 x per week on doctor's advice. I am also taking cod liver oil, zinc and using a probiotic these have worked better for me than the OAB tablets prescribed by my GP which actually made my condition worse. I really do not think GPs take this condition seriously and think you are imagining or over dramatising the effect this condition has on your life.

Hi Lola
Hopefully the extra vagifem may help , I’ve refused to take the meds for OAB as I still think it’s infection related ,
Probiotics are very good .
You’re quite right drs don’t take this seriously enough . It really is ar time’s very difficult to cope with especially when you are used to being fit and healthy .

You hit the nail on the head about being healthy, I used to go to the gym three x per week and laugh all the time - this problem has stopped all of that and is making me depressed. I visited my GP again yesterday to be told to take the OAB medication, which I really don't want to do, they ignore my symptoms and haven't tested by urine since March, hence I want to Leeds.

I have now added D-Mannose four x per day to see if that helps with any underlying infection. Sorry to harp on but I would love to be able to sit in bed and drink a cup of tea without needing to pee within 45 minutes. Funny the things you miss. This forum really helps me as no one else seems to understand the impact this has on your life.
