I have had recurring bacterial cystitis almost permanently for two years. I have tried several treatments under the care of a consultant urologist but another flare up is never far away. I have had urovacom which seemed to work but only for a few months.
The consultant now wants to try Hiprex but I am hesitant as there seems to be a lot of nasty side effects.
I would like to hear from anyone who has taken Hiprex, about their experience whilst taking it and whether it's been effective,
I am currently trying to control the flare ups with d- mannose, oil of oregano and practising Angela Kilmartins washing method.
Thanhs in advance

Hello Marianne
Welcome to our Forum

See this thread here

as believe there is a problem obtaining Hiprex at moment, so would be good to hear of you start taking and able to get supply.

Do hope you will find much support on here and also if you become a Member of BHUK you will receive much more assistance.

Kind regards

I have been on Hiprex for a couple of years now, along with antibiotics initially and then I stopped antibiotics at the beginning of this year.  I was fine on Hiprex only until recently when the supply dried up. After a week I got the old familiar twinges again, so it was back on abx!  I have now managed to get a supply of Hiprex so I'm back on them without the abx now.  Fortunately I don't seem to suffer from any side effects, but I guess we're all different.
