I saw the Prof in London this afternoon and tests revealed that I am now free of infection. There's still a touch of thrush lurking around so I have a week's worth of fluconazole, otherwise I'm just on Hiprex.  I have a prescription for antibiotics if the old symptoms flare up again, but just now I'm quietly hopeful.

Last year I had a diagnosis of lung cancer.  I had surgery in June, chemo starting in July for three months, then the whole of November having radiotherapy.  All pretty grim, but I'm recovering from the treatment now.  Everybody is very kind to you when you have cancer, why can you not get the same level of compassion when you have cystitis?

Hi Barbie
Bless you, Thank you for posting, so very pleased to read, and certainly can agree-
"why can you not get the same level of compassion when you have cystitis?  "

With education, I do believe more and more are becoming compassionate and understand the real effects of our dreadful Bladder Dis- ease.

I do hope the future holds better health for you on both fronts again as you say "All pretty grim"

Your post will hopefully give comfort to others looking in.

Kind regards
