"There have been a few new patients turning up to Harley Street without confirmation letters. Patients must be registered on the system prior to their appointment. They are only registered on the system once I email over their confirmation letters with all the details of their appointments on it. If they have not received this that means they are not booked in and have not got an official appointment and they will NOT be seen. I repeat if they turn up to Harley Street without a formal confirmation letter they will NOT be seen.
When I initially book patients in I always state the appointment is RESERVED for them. This is because I have to register them before I book them into a slot. Also 9 times out of 10 I manage to bring their initial appointment forward because of a cancellation. In this email I normally state to patients they will receive a confirmation letter a week prior to their appointment. Lately I have been sending them a bit later due to the practice being so busy, but it is starting to slow down so it should be back to a week or earlier if I can . If they do not receive their confirmation letters from me a couple of days prior to their appointment they can email me to give me a nudge and enquire.
I have also started to incorporate the above message about turning up without a confirmation letter in my initial reserved appointment email where I send over reg forms, terms and conditions and consultant fees but I thought this was another way I can communicate this message for patients I have already reserved appointments for and I would be grateful if this can be posted up to all new patients".
