My consultant has agreed to try me on Parsons instills.
He will be using Lignocaine with bicarbonate. He told me the relief doesn't
last long with these installs. I'm so disappointed because I am only going
to be allowed to have 4 and they will be a month apart !

I think if they give me relief I should be allowed to have them on an on going basis,
especially as I am not on any other pain relief and I've been hospitalised
so many times because of the pain. What do others think ? I won't see
him again now .

Hi Heather . I can't understand it, if instills give relief you have
to have them long term otherwise what's the point !

I'm sure these will help me as I had one when I was being diagnosed with IC .
I could only hold 200 ML of urine but after the instill the pain had really eased
and I could hold 400ml of urine .

Will have to see how it goes but it's going to be so hard if they help and then they're stopped !

It's ridiculous, they'd rather have me taking up a bed in hospital than give me something that eases
My pain !!

Hi again Heather
I had one instill before but it was only used to
diagnose that I had IC .

I know a lot of people are struggling with pain but I've really suffered
In the last 3 years with different painful conditions , In that time I've been
In hospital 23 times .

I hope you find the Elmiron helpful when you get it . It does take a while
before you feel any relief so stick with it if you can .

Let me know how you get on x
