Taking this makes my palpitations worse,. It said that "Too much baking soda will deplete potassium from your body and low potassium levels will cause heart palpitations."

Hello lindilou
Am sorry to read your palpitations have increased, unfortunately this can happen, here is what Cob has on their Website, always a good place to read through for extra advice and information.

Thanks Kate, this is a huge relief, I also suffer with ectopic heartbeats, wore a heart monitor last year, so I am now taking Propranolol when it starts. Things have been easier since stopping the bicarb. [smile]  I have some pH protector drops containing calcium and magnesium so will do some research on those.

You have probably saved my life too, literally - Thank you Kate.

ps, today is my birthday too and you have been a huge help. [kiss][wave][thumb]

Hello Lindilou
HAPPY BIRTHDAY To yooo hoo!! [biggrin][smile] Do hope you can have a pleasant day, and some of your symptoms will be easing.

Pleased you found the link helpful. it is always  worth researching, and it does not cost anything to ask, especially if you have a helpful doc or nurse.

It amazes me how many think herbal and other alternatives, can just be taken willy nilly, especially with a body already struggling in trying to cope.adding another treatment may just send it into overdrive, as you have discovered. Also we are all so different that what suits one may really upset someone else Doh!!!!!

You take care and do keep posting
Big Hugs
Kate

Yes Kate, re herbal stuff.  I tried A Vogels 'Menopause Support', it being herbal - big mistake.  I am learning very fast.
