Hi

After recieving "a taste of the good life" by Bev Laumann.
I was a bit disapointed.

I'm sick in bed at the moment after an bad stomach upset.  I just fancy soup but I don't have the energy.  My friend said she will make them for me.
We are both rubbish at making recipes up.  I have a dairy allergy and can't eat mushrooms.

I'm looking for a lentil soup recipe, vegetable and chicken soup recipe.
with all bladder friendly foods as my bladder is so sore.

So disapointed.  This time last week I posted how brilliant I was doing.

Many Thanks

Laura

Hi Laura,

I love lentil and veggie soup - it's one of those rare meals that I know is IC friendly but also really tasty.

What I normally use is (for 2 big portions) - half a small swede, one or two carrots, a small onion (if you can tolerate cooked onion of course) - all chopped small and fried in oil/butter for a few minutes.  Add a ladle-full of red lentils and a pint of veggie or chicken stock.  Simmer for about 20 mins, then whizz in a blender.

Parsnip or other root veg are also good in this - whatever combination you fancy.  You could try leek instead of the onion?  I seem to be OK with both as long as they're well cooked.

Hope you feel better soon.

Sandra.

Hi Laura, really glad to hear that the coconut butter worked in the cake and that ur enjoying the almond butter. I find it a really nice treat on rice cakes.
U can get cashew butter as well, not bad but not as nice as the almond butter. Someone just mentioned to me a few days ago u can buy hazelnut butter as well.
