Are you on any medication that could cause you to put on weight Jen?Someone I know put on weight and it turned out to be a cyst and once she had it removed she was 1 1/2 stone lighter. Another friend has IBs and she gets a very bloated stomach. With me it's comfort eating that puts weight on. hope you find some answer soon.

sorry for the delay in posting.

Have seen the dietcian and my bowel consultant who all agree it is the lyrica that is the cause of my weight gain.

I do have IBS as well - but that doesn't change my weight, but it does make me very bloated at times.

I am now over 10 stone (was just over 7 stone at Chrsitmas and i was never above 8 and half stone even when pregant - i couldn't gain weight no matter what i did) and still gaining, despite really trying to lose weight - dieting is not easy when you trying to juggle an IC and IBS diet.

Guess the ony answer is to come off the lyrica but my IC is so unstable at the moment and all other treatments seem to have failed to stablise me that coming off the one pain killer that does help seems very scary (although looking the mirror is havign the same scare factor lately!!)

we have tried reducing the doseage, but its just made my IC even more unstable....
