Reply with quote | #1 | Hi everyone, I have a new infection and I was wondering if anyone has ever been able to rid themselves of the infection without antibiotics.I've just finished eight months of antibiotic treatment and I'm scared that I will become resistant. Are uti's say like a sinus infection where your own body can fight it.?I'm taking si piridium(which doesnt help with pain but really seems to help my urgency that I usually get) and really good painkillers. Can piridium make it so you dont have to pee very much????I only went a couple of times yesterday which is crazy because I usually go about 20 when I dont have an infection.Thanx all.Jenny __________________ jennifer |

I suggest you visit your doctor as soon as possible if you feel you have an infection, left untreated infections can become harmful and make the patient very ill. In the UK we do not have piridium, I see you are in Canada. The US IC site maybe able to answer your piridium question. http://www.ic-network.com/I am glad you have found piridium helpful with your symptoms, please be sure to have your urine checked for any actual infection if symptoms continue. Hope you feel better soon. Dawn __________________ COB Message Board Moderator.

Sorry I didnt see your post.Could you explain what an oab is?Also,I'm not sure if it is painkillers that are causing me to pee so litle or the peridium.Dawn informed me that peridium is not available in the uk so I'll fill you in if you arent aware of this drug. It's for bladder pain and urgency specifically for the bladder. It turns your pee bright orange.I dont find it at all helpful for pain but it helps urgency a lot.I use a drug called toredol for pain. It's really helpful. However, i guess there could be a connection to the painkiller part of it.I do take toredol often for pelvic pain specifically premenstrually and never had the barely ever peeing thing. You should probably check this out with your doctor its interesting though isnt it?All the different things that go on.It's no wonder doctors cant figure half of it out when we are all so unique.I dont think its all in your head though.I believe that we know our bodies best.this doesn't mean that I'm saying dont listen to medical advice:Just that we shouldnt minimize our own experiences just because the doctors arent aware of something we already know.Just look at how many people persevered because they knew something wasnt right and finally got a diagnosis that another doctor said didnt exist. You are the expert of how you feel.Hope you figure this out.Good luck.Jenny __________________ jennifer |

Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAID) such as Ibuprofen do reduce urine production. It's a side-effect. However, please be careful not to over-use them because over-use may cause other side-effects such as bleeding from the stomach. Rex. |
